Ethical issues raised in using online tele-mental health (OTH): a review of studies

Resumen

Dada la actual pandemia de COVID-19, el uso de tecnología en plataformas en línea ha sido un método principal a nivel internacional para defender el sistema de atención médica durante esta crisis sanitaria mundial. La telesalud mental (OTH) en línea ofrece nuevas e interesantes oportunidades para los profesionales de la salud mental. Sin embargo, el inicio de la OTH también ha venido acompañado de una serie de pruebas, particularmente sobre estándares éticos. El objetivo de esta revisión narrativa apunta a resaltar las cuestiones éticas planteadas entre los estudios que aplican la modalidad de OTH, que es un recurso oportuno para los profesionales de la salud mental que se han visto obligados a pasar a la práctica de consultas y sesiones en línea. Durante la revisión se utilizan los puntos clave estándar de los códigos de ética de los profesionales de la salud mental, aplicando tanto la Asociación Estadounidense de Psicología (APA) como el código de ética proporcionado por la Asociación de Psicología de Filipinas (PAP). Los resultados muestran que existen problemas e incertidumbres para los proveedores de salud mental que se esfuerzan por cumplir con el cambio tecnológico. En este estudio, las cinco cuestiones éticas más críticas encontradas en los encuentros de OTH incluyen cuestiones de competencia, cuestiones relacionadas con las interrupciones de los servicios psicológicos en el uso de la tecnología, cuestiones de integridad, cuestiones de privacidad y confidencialidad, y temas que se consideran cuestiones accesorias en OTRO. Las recomendaciones proporcionadas cumplen con el objetivo de eliminar las cuestiones éticas planteadas en la revisión.
