ABSTRACT: The objective of the present research was to evaluate the phytochemical profile and the antioxidant potential of the leaves, flowers and stem of the species Senna splendida. For that purpose, the preparation of methanolic extracts was made and, consequently, the analysis of antioxidant activity was carried out, using the DPPH method, and the study of the phytochemical profile through phytochemical screening and quantification of the content of total phenols and flavonoids. Through this, it was possible to verify that the flower extract presented a higher class of secondary metabolites. Through the DPPH radical capture test, it was observed that the flower also had a better DPPH reduction capacity with an average percentage of 70.48 ± 0.92%. However, for the quantification tests of total phenol and flavonoid content, the leaf extract showed better results, with 1036.13 ±131,34 mgEAG / g extract and 96.25±1,87 mgEQ / g extract. Therefore, it is notable that the study on the medicinal properties for the different partitions of S. splendida is of great relevance and highlighting the ability of the different extracts analyzed to act as inhibitors of radical species and consequently be used in the treatment or fight against pathologies.
