ABSTRACT: The basic sanitation of any facility is known to have a direct impact on the quality of life of the people living or working in that space, even contributing to the preservation or degradation of the surrounding environment. Thus, this work aims to apply the critical path method to the sewage works of the Naval Complex of Ilha do Governador. It will be used the PERT / CPM, Critical Path Method, in its execution, with the purpose of monitoring the activities of the repair works. This method is based on Graph Theory and should be used strategically by the manager, as it indicates the set of activities that cannot be delayed, otherwise the project will be delayed. Regarding the methodology, the present research can be classified as exploratory and case study. With the advent of this study, the possibility of returning the functionality of the sanitary sewage network of the mentioned Naval Complex is envisaged, maintaining all the operating characteristics of the original system, recovering the equipment systems of the existing lift and contributing to the reduction of pollution of the waters bordering the facilities. The study is divided into five sections namely: Introduction, Problem Description, Theoretical Rationale, Critical Path Method and Final Considerations. Checking the results obtained with the use of PERT / CPM methods, it was possible to observe the importance of the Critical Path of the activities developed in the work. This research can make a significant contribution to society as the smooth running of the work in question can prevent the dumping of thousands of gallons of fresh sewage into Baía de Guanabara.
