ABSTRACT: In the field of health, the use of technologies is constituted in concrete processes that are derived from research for the development of a set of activities, whose purpose is to generate knowledge and apply in the processes, transforming the empirical use into a scientific approach. In this perspective, the technologies then have a set of devices in order to promote health, prevent and treat diseases and rehabilitate people incorporated into care. The present study aims to describe the challenges and benefits of auxiliary technologies applied in health care, from the context, as well as discuss the applicability of technologies in care from the perspective that seeks to contribute to the concept of safe care in the culture of professionals health, strengthening the quality of care. In addition, it will serve as a stimulus for the development of future studies on the topic. Initially, a random search for scientific articles and books was carried out by means of electronic search. This is a descriptive study, of the literature review type, with a qualitative approach, of students of the Nursing Course, held at the Virtual Health Library, from June to August 2020, which selected twenty-five publications to compose the study, of which they address the challenges and benefits in which they allude to the use of technology in healthcare and nursing care in a broad way, with no evidence of an application focus. These publications define concepts and explain the types of technologies most used. Thus, the discussion around care technologies is relevant in the search for better results when managing care with the technological resource that most contributed to the patient's benefit. As a result, it is necessary to use the appropriate health technologies for each care station, reducing the deficiencies found and awakening interest in effective technologies and with a greater number of benefits, which are essential for the full recovery of the clientele.
